Role Purpose
The Regional Manager – Animal Feeds & Hatchery is responsible for driving sales growth, market expansion, and operational excellence for day -old chicks and animal feeds within an assigned region. The role serves as the primary link between head office and the field, ensuring efficient distribution, strong customer relationships, regulatory compliance, and high standards of animal welfare and bio security. Through effective leadership and commercial execution, the role contributes directly to profitability, customer satisfaction, and market leadership.
Develop and execute regional sales strategies for day -old chicks and animal feeds.
Grow market share by identifying and onboarding new customers, including smallholder farmers, commercial poultry farms, cooperatives, and agro -dealers.
Expand and strengthen distribution networks across the region.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and credit terms with key customers and distributors.
Monitor competitor activity, customer trends, and market dynamics to inform strategy adjustments.
Oversee planning and coordination of timely deliveries of chicks and feeds.
Ensure logistics operations meet efficiency, safety, bio security, and welfare standards.
Manage regional inventory levels and demand forecasting for both product lines.
Ensure proper handling, transportation, and welfare of day -old chicks throughout the supply chain.
Build and maintain strong, long -term relationships with farmers, distributors, and cooperatives.
Provide technical guidance on chick management, feeding programs, and basic disease prevention.
Resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
Organize farmer trainings, field demonstrations, extension visits, and promotional activities.
Recruit, train, and supervise regional sales representatives and field officers.
Set clear performance targets and monitor results across chicks and feeds.
Coach, motivate, and mentor teams to achieve sales, service, and operational goals.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, bio security standards, and company policies.
Monitor regional financial performance, budgets, and expense controls.
Prepare and submit regular sales, operations, and market reports to head office.
Implement company procedures consistently across all regional activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Agribusiness, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
5–7 years’ experience in poultry, livestock, or agribusiness sales and/or regional management.
Strong technical understanding of poultry production, chick handling, feed programs, and biosecurity.
Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and managing regional operations.
Strong leadership, people management, and coaching skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship -building abilities.
Commercially astute with strong planning and analytical skills.
High level of integrity, accountability, and customer focus.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned region.
Proficiency in MS Office and basic ERP or sales management systems.
Regional sales revenue and growth (day -old chicks and feeds).
Customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty levels.
On -time delivery performance and logistics efficiency.
Compliance with biosecurity, welfare, and regulatory standards.
Sales team performance, productivity, and retention.
Market penetration and acquisition of new customers.
