Job Description - Regional Manager (Homecare)

We are a leading provider of unskilled homecare services, dedicated to empowering individuals to live independently in the comfort of their homes. Operating across multiple states, our mission-driven agency is fueled by compassion, innovation, and a deep commitment to community. In Detroit, we specialize in delivering consumer-directed care through the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP), enabling clients to choose their caregivers and maintain their dignity and autonomy. As a fast-growing organization, we are seeking a dynamic Regional Manager with expertise in unskilled homecare to lead our Detroit operations, expand our impact, and uphold our commitment to exceptional care and employee support.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Regional Manager to lead our unskilled homecare services throughout Detroit, with a focus on the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP). This high-impact leadership role involves overseeing multiple office locations, driving operational excellence, and ensuring compliance with Michigan Medicaid regulations. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a compassionate leader, and an expert in unskilled homecare who can inspire teams, foster community partnerships, and deliver outstanding client outcomes. This is more than a management position—it’s an opportunity to shape the future of consumer-directed, unskilled homecare in Michigan and make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients and caregivers.

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations across multiple Detroit-area offices, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality, client-centered unskilled homecare services under the CDPAP framework. Focus on non-medical support such as personal care, household tasks, and medication reminders.
  • Team Development: Recruit, train, and mentor local managers, coordinators, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and compassion. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development for unskilled homecare teams.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement and monitor systems to ensure compliance with Michigan Medicaid regulations, CDPAP requirements, and industry standards for unskilled homecare. Maintain accurate documentation, track performance metrics, and conduct audits to uphold service quality.
  • Strategic Growth: Expand our presence in Detroit through strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and referral sources focused on unskilled homecare. Develop and execute initiatives to increase client enrollment and caregiver recruitment.
  • Financial Management: Manage regional budgets, monitor financial performance, and make data-driven decisions to optimize resources while maintaining client satisfaction and business growth.
  • Community Engagement: Represent our organization in the Detroit community, building relationships with local stakeholders and hosting events to strengthen connections between clients, caregivers, and the community.
  • Client and Caregiver Support: Ensure clients receive personalized, compassionate unskilled care (e.g., assistance with daily living activities, meal preparation, and light housekeeping) and caregivers are supported with the resources and training needed to succeed. Address escalated client or caregiver concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and other tools to streamline operations, track performance, and enhance communication across unskilled homecare teams.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience specifically in unskilled homecare, with at least 3 years in a management role overseeing multi-site operations. Candidates must have direct experience in unskilled Medicaid homecare, focusing on non-medical tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders. Experience in skilled home health, hospice, nursing homes, or clinical healthcare settings will not be considered.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Michigan Medicaid regulations, CDPAP policies, and unskilled homecare compliance requirements. Expertise in consumer-directed care models is essential.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams in unskilled homecare, achieving performance goals, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with EMR systems (e.g., HHAeXchange, CareVoyant, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience in unskilled homecare management may be considered.
  • Attributes: Collaborative, innovative, and client-focused with a passion for improving lives through unskilled homecare. Ability to think strategically and act decisively.
  • Availability: Must be available to work Monday through Friday, with occasional flexibility for evenings or weekends as needed. This is an in-person role based in Detroit.
  • Salary: $50,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications in unskilled homecare.
  • Bonuses: Performance-based bonuses tied to regional growth, client satisfaction, and operational metrics in unskilled homecare delivery.
  • Benefits:
    • 401(k) with employer matching
    • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
    • Paid time off (PTO) and holidays
    • Employee assistance program for mental health and wellness support
    • Employee discounts on select services and programs
    • Flexible scheduling to promote work-life balance
    • Professional development assistance, including training and leadership programs tailored to unskilled homecare
  • Career Growth: Opportunities for advancement within a rapidly expanding organization, with access to resources for professional growth and skill development in unskilled homecare.
