Job Description - Regional Trade Marketing Manager

About the Role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving retail marketing strategies to increase product demand and sales in assigned clusters. Develop and execute marketing strategies aimed at influencing distributors and retailers to promote effectively and sell the company's products through building strong relationships with these key trade partners, managing in-store visibility,and creating targeted promotional campaigns to drive sales at the point of purchase.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning
  • Develop and implement comprehensive regional trade marketing strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Focus on retaining loyal customers and attracting new ones through targeted regional trade marketing campaigns and promotions.
2. Customer Retention
  • Design and execute loyalty programs and initiatives to enhance customer retention and satisfaction.
  • Analyze customer data to identify trends and opportunities for improving customer engagement.
3. Market Analysis
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to understand market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior.
  • Use insights to inform trade marketing strategies and tactics in assigned region.
4. Promotional Activities
  • Collaborate and lead the execution of trade promotions, in-store displays, and merchandising activities in your assigned region
  • Collaborate with field sales teams to ensure effective implementation and maximize impact.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders for the deployment and management of POS materials in assigned region.
5. Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including retailers, distributors, and other partners.
  • Negotiate trade terms and agreements to drive mutual growth and success.
6. Capability Building
  • Plan and lead the execution of vendor and VSM capability building initiatives in assigned region.
  • Conduct training needs analysis for field sales teams to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of trade marketing activities in your assigned region.
7. Asset Management
  • Ensure an up-to-date inventory of assets in your assigned region and assess state and gaps vs plan
  • Collaborate with key regional stakeholders in the deployment and redeployment of sales equipment and cold chain assets in your assigned regions.
  • Coordinate with agents on faulty asset reporting and liaise with regional asset repair team for evacuation of faulty asset repairs and maintenance of sales equipment in assigned region.
  • Monitor sales assets ROIC (simple KPIs), and redeploy if needed
  • Manage and optimize repairs and maintenance of sales assets (monitor service level, preventive maintenance, quantity of spare parts needed).
  • Regularly review and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and optimize strategies.
8. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of trade promotions and in-store promotions to determine whether these meet the Company's objectives in the assigned region.

9. Serve as a spokesperson for the team at key regional stakeholder meetings, ensuring customer marketing is well represented and customer insight is being considered in wider commercials decision-making.

10. Align with the Sales and Channels team to ensure campaign activities deliver against sales targets and forecasts are fed in during planning phases.

11. Look for opportunities to gain distribution on new products and improve product exposure (shelf positioning, advertising, and promotions) - including monitoring what competitors are doing in assigned regions.

12. Work closely with the Insight team, utilizing customer insights to inform the CRM strategy to drive key commercial metrics

Requirements

  • Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing or any relevant course of study
  • Minimum of 4-5 years work experience
  • Strong commercial background (Sales- and or Marketing)
  • Bilingualism is an asset (English and French).
  • Great interest in the consumer goods market, its banners and its competitors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, along with oral and written communication.
  • Good creativity, analytical, numerical and presentation skills & argumentative approach.
  • Decision making & able to react fast to changing environment.
  • Broad understanding of marketing
  • Customer/consumer shopper techniques
  • Understands data/analytics and how to leverage within a CRM strategy.
  • Insights generations and application
