Job Summary: As a Registered Behavior Technician you will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of Calabrese Youth Center by ensuring the welfare and safety of residents and providing the necessary assistance to increase independent living skills. In addition, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support to a team of residential counselors during shift regarding implementation of treatment and behavior plans as well as leading training with new hires and current staff on treatment plan updates.
Essential Job Duties
Supervisory (20%)
In partnership with CYC leadership team, you will provide coaching and guidance to a team of residential counselors, including training, mentoring, and providing feedback regarding the implementation of behavior plans and treatment goals
Assisting with onboarding new residents to CYC
Providing in the moment feedback while training new and current staff
Assisting the clinical team with behavior plan updates, program material updates, and monitoring behavior data and progress
Assisting the BCBA with implementing trainings aimed at teaching residential counselors how to implement behavior analytic techniques and expand understanding of behavior analytic approaches
Assisting Program Managers with coordinating the schedule and assigning activities for residents
Assisting Program Managers with day-to-day operations including: activity and outing planning, providing staff breaks,
Direct Care
Capturing naturalistic opportunities to teach essential replacement skills such as communication, coping skills, and regulation skills
Creating opportunities for youth to generalize skills across environments including in the community
Teaching youth to complete essential daily living skills including bathing, chores, and money management to increase independence
Respond to emergencies and crisis situations promptly and effectively.
Drive participants as necessary for program needs.
Oversee health and welfare of children/youth and report concerns and progress to program manager.
Provide direct behavioral support and assist with skill building per the treatment plan
Provide 24-hour supervision to children/youth.
Assist with onboarding new students and orienting them to the center.
Implementing behavior plans and treatment goals
Collecting data on behavioral and treatment goals
Maintain ethics code as stated by the BACB
Administrative
Maintain accurate records of resident interactions, progress, and incidents.
Ensure the completion passing of medication is smooth and timely.
Ensure physical management reports are completed before end of shift.
Assisting the clinical team with creating program materials and documentation
Completing continuing education trainings
Attending group supervision and case planning meetings
Other Duties as Assigned
Minimum Requirements
Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
At least 21 years of age
Bachelors in Human Services or related field, or Two-years’ experience working with developmentally disabled youth with emotional/behavioral disorders.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
Ability to pass the RBT exam through the BACB within 60 days of hire
Demonstrates and maintains highly ethical practice per the BACB ethics code for RBTs.
