PAY RANGE: $90,000-$100,000 annually based on experience
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus
SUMMARY: Plans and delivers nutritional care to patients in accordance with the physician’s diagnosis in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides nutrition screening and assessment of patients for appropriate nutrition intervention.
Applies knowledge of general and therapeutic oral nutrition, enteral and parenteral nutrition to develop and implement care plans appropriate to patients’ needs.
Provides clinical/educational interventions that integrate patient outcomes with medical standards of practice.
Provides and maintains accurate documentation, pertinent reports, and statistics on nutrition care activities.
Develops specific nutritional care plans based on the patient’s age, nutritional assessment, diagnosis, cultural background, and religious practices.
Educates patients, family, and caregivers regarding nutrition and diets on an individual or group basis.
Develops meal plans to meet the patient’s lifestyle.
Implements nutritional care plans to include follow-up and referrals to government, community, and/or health care facilities for continuity of nutritional care as required.
Consults with and educates physicians and other health care providers regarding clinical nutrition issues or concerns, policies, and procedures.
Assists with developing, maintaining, and updating diet manuals and policies and procedures.
Plans, implements, and reports on performance improvement activities and directs quality assurance audits.
Promotes the growth and development of the FHI Nutrition Support Program.
Plans, conducts, and evaluates in-service education programs.
Understands the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills necessary to provide patient care for all age groups (adult patients, adolescent patients, pediatric patients, neonatal patients and geriatric patients).
Documents actions according to FPS-Home Infusion guidelines.
Report to the appropriate manager(s) any known or suspected violations of policies and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in dietetics with RD status with the American Dietetics Association
Required: 2 years Clinical dietitian with acute care experience working with an interdisciplinary team, managing patients receiving total parenteral nutrition and enteral therapies; knowledge of home infusion therapy reimbursement for nutrition services
Preferred: Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD)
Preferred: Previous Sales and Home Infusion Experience
Must have TPN experience

Bilingual skills a plus.

Strong charting/documentation skills.
Possesses the visual, auditory, verbal, and olfactory processes required to assess, monitor, and care for patients.
Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 30 pounds
Occasional exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
