Registered Dental Assistant - Eastside Family Dentistry

Description

The primary role of the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is to support the doctors in providing the best dental care possible. Duties include preparing treatment rooms, equipment sterilization, taking x-rays, liaising with patients, using effective chair-side skills, documenting and updating treatment plans, and effectively supporting the dentist’s diagnosis when the patient asks questions. The RDA will maintain safety and infection control compliance with state, federal and other regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment where your patients feel comfortable; prepare patients for treatment, and assist the doctors
• Take and record vitals (e.g. B.P, Pulse)
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients as directed
• Initiates and maintains dental records and files
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories in accordance with the ADA guidelines
• Maintain compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, etc)
• Fabricate temporary crowns
• Four handed dentistry

Schedule: Tuesday - Friday 6:40am - 4:00pm

Pay Range: $25-$36 per hour DOE

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent, and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration
• Certifications/licenses/registrations as mandated by applicable state (e.g. coronal polish, radiograph exposure, etc)
• Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• 2+ years experience preferred
