Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide nutrition care and counseling to patients. The Dietitian will assess patients' nutritional needs, understand their health goals and dietary restrictions, develop individualized nutrition plans, and monitor patient progress.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical nutrition knowledge, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for helping patients achieve healthier lifestyles.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct nutrition assessments and speak with patients to understand their health goals, dietary needs, preferences, and restrictions.
Develop individualized nutrition and dietary plans based on patient needs.
Provide nutrition counseling, education, and guidance to patients.
Monitor and document patient progress toward established nutrition and health goals.
Maintain accurate patient information and documentation in the appropriate database/system.
Collaborate with chefs and other healthcare professionals to develop appropriate menus for patients and cafeteria visitors.
Stay current with the latest research, developments, and best practices in nutrition and dietetics.
Participate in nutrition demonstrations, seminars, and educational programs.
Educate patients and community members about healthy eating habits and proper nutrition.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders.
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow applicable healthcare and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Health, or a related field.
Valid state license to practice as required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a related dietary/clinical nutrition field.
Strong knowledge of nutrition, dietary planning, and healthy eating practices.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong computer and data-entry skills.
Ability to communicate nutrition concepts clearly to patients and groups.
Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a genuine interest in helping others improve their health.
Willingness to continue professional education and stay current with developments in nutrition and dietetics.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification/credential from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred.
Previous clinical or healthcare experience.
Experience providing direct patient nutrition counseling.
Experience developing patient-specific or therapeutic menus.
Experience conducting nutrition education sessions, demonstrations, or seminars.
