Position Overview:

The Juvenile Justice Intervention Center (JJIC), operated by the City of New Orleans, is a secure detention facility for youth awaiting court proceedings or placement. JJIC provides trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate medical and behavioral health care to residents, many of whom present with complex needs. We are seeking dedicated healthcare and behavioral health professionals to join our on-site team, delivering high-quality care 24/7 in compliance with state, federal, and juvenile justice standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform health assessments, treatments, and routine checks.
• Administer medications and monitor effects.
• Respond to medical emergencies and incidents.
• Maintain accurate health records.

Qualifications:

• Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s (LPN) or Bachelor’s (RN)
• Licensure: Active Louisiana RN or LPN License
• Experience: Adolescent/correctional health (preferred)
• Technical Skills:
• Medication administration
• Emergency response protocols
• Soft Skills: Crisis management, trauma-informed communication, clinical judgment
