We are looking for a motivated and skilled person to join our Abdominal Transplant Unit as an Education Resource Specialist. If you care about improving education and helping others in the area of abdominal transplantation, this job is for you! You will create and lead training programs that will make a difference for patients and healthcare workers.
**Main Duties:** - Create and present educational programs for the abdominal transplant program. This includes training for outpatient care, transplant ICU, and hospital care. - Help doctors, nurses, and transplant coordinators with training and resources, such as orientation for new employees and ongoing education. - Work with the team to follow important guidelines and include best practices in training materials. - Support the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and work closely with the outpatient area of the transplant unit. - Report to leadership and take part in a 3-day classroom training program.
**Key Responsibilities:** - Be a learning resource for service activities and hospital functions. - Identify and assess the educational needs of the target group. Plan, create, implement, and evaluate educational programs. - Develop and maintain a program for new employees to learn. - Facilitate education for patients and measure how well it works. - Support professional growth and meet department goals to help the organization succeed. - Ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors by following all rules and standards. - Provide safe, kind, and effective care to everyone.
**Work Schedule:** Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility needed.
**Qualifications:** - **Education:** Master’s Degree in Nursing or a similar field is required. - **Licenses/Certifications:** - Current Texas nursing license to practice. - Transplant Coordinator certification is a plus. - Must complete Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
**Experience:** - At least five (5) years working as a Registered Nurse (RN). - Experience as a Transplant Coordinator is necessary. - Teaching experience, especially in healthcare, is a plus.
**Skills:** - Knowledge of Epic, OPTN, and CSM guidelines. - Strong skills in leadership and creating educational programs.
