REGISTERED NURSE - COUMADIN CLINIC - FULL TIME

Summary/Objective: The ideal candidate for a Registered Nurse Position should be currently licensed with the state of Florida and have at least one year of comprehensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings

Essential Functions

• Interprets patients’ abnormal protime/INR and adjusts anticoagulant dose per protocol. Identify critical lab values and responds appropriately. Adhere to turnaround time, volumes and length of phone call times as directed by Clinical Director and/or Coordinator.
• Identify and refer patients appropriately to ARNP for follow up. Support MA’s in triaging patients and responding to questions about difficult patients. Supports MA’s by calling normals when workload allows.
• Performs patient/family education and other nurse visits regarding anticoagulation as scheduled.
• Recognizes and responds to emergency situations as appropriate.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Nursing. 3 years of clinical nursing experience, 1 of which Cardiology, ER, or Critical Care related.

Preferred Education and Experience: Previous experience in patient education setting.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Current RN licensure, Current CPR certification, ACLS within 1 year of employment
