Registered Nurse (RN) – Open Heart OR

Job Summary and Responsibilities:

As a member of the surgical team, you’ll work closely with physicians and fellow healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and effective care for patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures. Your focus will be on providing optimal intra-operative support tailored to each patient's specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recognize and respond to urgent and emergent surgical situations
• Promote continuity and quality of care with a patient-first approach
• Monitor patients’ conditions and vital signs during surgery
• Deliver general nursing care based on individual patient assessments
• Ensure the operating room is fully equipped with the necessary instruments, implants, and supplies
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols
• Complete and review patient documentation in line with required standards
• Communicate clearly with patients, surgeons, and team members to support coordinated care

Requirements

• Active Florida RN license or multistate compact RN license (compact license holders must obtain a Florida license within 60 days of relocation)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required within 30 days of start)
• Minimum of 1 year of perioperative experience or completion of a Perioperative Nursing course (preferred)
• At least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting (preferred)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (required within 6 months of hire)
• CNOR certification preferred
