Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Provide routine and complex nursing care, demonstrating independent clinical judgment and awareness of patient needs.

Apply the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation, for assigned patients.

Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, adapting care to meet individual requirements.

Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitor for side effects and treatment efficacy.

Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.

Assess patient and caregiver learning needs and provide education and guidance to support optimal health outcomes.

Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Demonstrate leadership competencies consistent with professional nursing standards, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care or relevant specialty preferred.

Current RN license in the state of employment (or compact license).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a high-acuity hospital setting, including ICU, emergency, or surgical units.

Familiarity with advanced cardiac care, stroke protocols, or oncology nursing.

Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills.
