Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse provides individualized, comprehensive, and evidence-based care to patients in the Emergency Department. Working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, the RN uses professional nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" to deliver exceptional care. This role involves direct clinical responsibility, patient advocacy, and continuous support of patient and family needs throughout the emergency care process.
Key Responsibilities:
Regularly assess and manage patient pain to promote comfort and healing
Carry out physician orders including procedures, medications, and monitoring
Thoroughly document all care provided in the patient’s medical record
Provide timely and responsive care, anticipating patient needs when possible
Educate patients and families on medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications in clear, understandable language
Promote health literacy by teaching follow-up care, preventative measures, and lifestyle adjustments
Support patients and families in preparing for self-care and recovery

Requirements
Active RN license or APRN in the state of Florida (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Associate Degree in Nursing or a Nursing Diploma (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
Basic Life Support (BLS) – required within 30 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – required within 30 days of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – required within 30 days of hire
