Registered Nurse Gastroenterology RN

Avant Tech is hiring on behalf of a premier federal healthcare facility for a GI Registered Nurse to support a long-term contract in Decatur, GA. This is a mission-driven opportunity to provide procedural care for U.S. military veterans in a high-acuity GI Lab setting.

• Schedule: 8-hour (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM) or 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
• Duration: Through September 2027
• Location: On-site in Decatur, GA
• Compensation: Hourly Rate
  

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care during GI procedures (Colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, etc.)
• Administer and monitor Moderate Sedation per protocol
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to changes in status
• Insert IV lines, perform blood draws, assist with line removals
• Support code response using ACLS protocol
• Ensure accurate documentation in electronic health records (CPRS)
• Follow infection control protocols including care of COVID-19 PUIs

• Active, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state)
• BLS & ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Moderate Sedation certification
• 3+ years of recent experience in ICU, critical care, or GI Lab
• Experience administering sedation and handling GI procedures
• Must have practiced in GI specialty within the last 6 months
• Preferred: CCRN Certification, prior VA or COVID/PUI patient experience
