Registered Nurse Hospice

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Hospice (In-Home)

Location: Owosso, MI

Shift Type: Afternoons

Shift Times: 1:30 PM 10:00 PM

Hourly Pay Range: $31.91 $45.94 (dependent on experience)

Position Overview:

This is an in-home hospice nursing role. The RN will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families, focusing on comfort and quality of life in their homes. The nurse will work independently and collaborate with a supportive interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete comprehensive physical, psychological, and social assessments upon admission
• Develop individualized care plans and update regularly based on patient needs
• Deliver high-quality hospice care in accordance with nursing standards and regulations
• Offer emotional, spiritual, and educational support to patients and their families
• Monitor patient symptoms and status changes; implement appropriate interventions
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
• Provide medication management, wound care, and symptom relief as needed
• Document all assessments, interventions, and communications promptly and accurately
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols
• Educate patients and families on condition management and end-of-life processes
• Serve as a leader and mentor to hospice aides and support staff

Ideal Candidate:

• Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Michigan
• Previous hospice or palliative care experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and independent decision-making skills
• Compassionate communicator with patients and families
• Comfortable driving and working in a home care setting
• Flexible, reliable, and able to handle emotional demands of hospice care
