Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient education and support.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the health status of mothers and newborns during labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed, including IV insertion.
• Assist with labor management techniques, including pain relief options.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families throughout the labor process.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals in developing care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to patient care.
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients post-delivery.
• Engage in continuous learning opportunities to stay updated on best practices in maternal care.

Certfications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced*, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP

Years of Experience: 3 year(s)

Skills

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current licensure.
• Proficient in venipuncture techniques for IV insertion.
• Knowledgeable in internal medicine principles related to maternal health.
• Experience with tube feeding for newborns when necessary.
• Strong memory care skills to support patients with varying needs.
• Ability to lift patients safely while adhering to proper safety protocols.
• Experience working in a teaching hospital is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Pay: $67.60 per hour
