Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

The Labor and Delivery Technician plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team during the labor and delivery process. This position involves assisting with patient care, managing equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for both mothers and newborns. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

• Assist healthcare professionals during labor and delivery procedures.
• Prepare and maintain equipment necessary for labor and delivery.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Ensure cleanliness and sterility of the delivery area.
• Support patients by providing comfort measures during labor.
• Load and unload medical supplies as needed.
• Operate various types of delivery vehicles as required, including box trucks or vans.
• Utilize manual transmission vehicles when necessary for deliveries.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow in the labor and delivery unit.

Years of Experience: 2 year(s)

Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, FHM, NRP

Charting System: Required, Epic

Community Hospital Experience: Required

Skills

• Proficient in operating commercial driving vehicles, including box trucks and vans.
• Experience with manual transmission is preferred.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations, including loading and unloading goods.
• Ability to move efficiently within a hospital or clinical setting.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to patient care and equipment handling.
• Experience as a courier or delivery driver is a plus.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks for moving supplies as needed.

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $67.60 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
