Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to expectant mothers during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, patient assessment, and the ability to perform various nursing procedures effectively. The Labor and Delivery Nurse will work collaboratively with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and child.

Duties

• Monitor and assess patients throughout labor and delivery, ensuring both maternal and fetal health.
• Administer IV infusions as needed for hydration or medication.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding the labor process, pain management options, and postpartum care.
• Perform patient assessments to determine the progress of labor and any potential complications.
• Utilize sterile processing techniques during delivery to maintain a safe environment.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in accordance with medical coding standards.
• Assist in lifting and positioning patients as required during labor and delivery.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for each patient.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, providing necessary interventions such as ventilation support when needed.

Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, FHM, NRP

Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00)

Pay: $77.75 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
