Under the direction of the department Leader(s) and the Charge Nurse, the R.N. Oncology Nurse independently provides holistic, individualized care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the unit.
Assist in the coordination of care with physicians (both within the hospital and community) and staff to serve patients through education, care management, quality improvement and support programs.
This position requires full understanding of oncology care and oncology disease management.
Demonstrates an advanced level of clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care.
Independently performs general and unit-specific clinical skills.
Requirements
Must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California
Current OCN or ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy card preferred
Must have and maintain current BLS Card, required
Must have one (1) year of recent appropriate nursing practice (within past three (3) years)
