Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) – Federal Facility – Decatur, GA

• Schedule: Full-time | Mon–Fri | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Location: Atlanta VA Medical Center – Decatur, GA
• Compensation: $35–$45/hour (all-inclusive rate)

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to support a full-time federal assignment at a prominent medical center in the Atlanta area. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-acuity, multi-specialty surgical unit serving veterans. Federal contract, Monday–Friday schedule, no weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform circulating and scrub nurse duties in OR procedures
• Maintain sterile fields and ensure aseptic technique
• Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia teams
• Manage surgical instruments, counts, and safety protocols
• Support complex surgeries across specialties (Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Vascular, etc.)
• Document patient responses and interventions accurately
• Maintain supplies, troubleshoot OR equipment, and assist in emergencies
  

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state
• Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience (within the last 6 months)
• Graduate of ACEN or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Experience in both circulating and scrub nurse roles
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-acuity surgical settings
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Nursing (BSN)
• CNOR certification
• Prior VA or federal healthcare experience
• Recent scrub experience
