Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Registered Nurse for an opening at a Medical Center in Selma, AL. In this role, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic setting, managing a diverse patient population and collaborating with a skilled healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
Function as a Circulating Nurse to manage the overall nursing care within the operating room, ensuring a safe and sterile environment and acting as the patient’s advocate before, during, and after surgery.
Perform and document thorough preoperative patient assessments, verify surgical consents and site, and provide emotional support to alleviate patient anxiety.
Coordinate the surgical team, equipment, and supplies before and during the procedure, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and anesthesiologist to maintain workflow efficiency.
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and sterile field principles throughout the surgical procedure to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
Accurately account for all instruments, sponges, and needles and assist in the safe transfer of the patient to the postoperative recovery area.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of Alabama.
Experience: Minimum of 6 months of RN work experience.
Technical Skills: Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred).
Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Credentialing Requirements: Clean background check, negative TB test results, annual physical, COVID-19 vaccination, and other requirements as specified by the facility or agency.
