Compass Government Solutions is seeking a qualified and dedicated Registered Nurse to provide services at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA (NMCP) and its associated Branch Health/Medical Clinics and Tricare Prime Clinics. This role supports military service members and their families by delivering exceptional nursing care in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. In preparation to bid on this contract, we are seeking qualified candidates willing to be included in our proposal as interested and skilled individuals. 

Job Duties:

• Perform a full range of RN duties including triage, patient assessment, monitoring, and patient education.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and intravenous therapies, including IV drips, push drugs, blood products, and TPN.
• Provide treatment and discharge instructions, ensuring patients and families understand care plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and concise patient documentation in electronic health records.
• Deliver clinical guidance and instruction to LPNs, nursing assistants, and ancillary staff.
• Provide counseling and health teaching for patients and families regarding self-care and pain management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team activities, including consultative services for patients with chronic pain.
• Support orientation, training, and competency assessments for newly assigned staff.
• Comply with infection control, patient safety, and quality improvement standards.
• Engage in professional development, continuing education, and required annual training.

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (NLNAC, CCNE, ACEN, or state-accredited).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Minimum of 1 year of post-graduate nursing experience.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association® or American Red Cross).
• One of the following is required:
  • Pain Management Nursing board certification accredited by ANCC
    
    OR
  • At least 3 years of full-time RN experience in the last 5 years, including 1 year in pain management with chronic pain patients.
