Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic ICU Registered Nurse (CTICU RN) for a 13-week travel contract. The RN must hold an active VA or Compact RN license, with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (all from the American Heart Association). EPIC proficiency is required, and candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience in a CVICU or CTICU setting.

The role involves caring for high-acuity post-operative cardiac and neuro patients, including those recovering from CABG, STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiac surgery, and stroke. Required clinical skills include managing arterial and central lines, advanced hemodynamic monitoring (FloTrac/Vigileo, Swan-Ganz), ventilator support, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and post-neurosurgical care (e.g., EVDs, ICP monitoring). Experience with CRRT, sedation, wound care, and infection control protocols is also essential.

The unit uses a universal bed model (ICU patients remain in place until discharge), has 8 beds, and maintains a 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio. Travel nursing experience is preferred.
