Job Description - Registered Nurse (RN)

We are actively hiring a Cardiothoracic ICU RN for a 13-week contract in Chesapeake, Virginia, located near Virginia Beach and Norfolk. This is a night shift role (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), offering 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with overtime after 48 hours for 4x12s. The unit uses a universal bed model, so nurses will care for both ICU and stepdown patients in the same unit.

A minimum of 2 years of CTICU/CVICU experience is required, along with EPIC proficiency—no exceptions.
Candidates must have a VA or Compact RN license in hand at submission, plus current BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications.
The role demands advanced skills including cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, ventilator and CRRT/CVVHD management, post-CABG and neuro care (EVD, ICP monitoring), and familiarity with Impella, IABP, Swan-Ganz, and post-op cardiac surgical recovery. Candidates must be comfortable with floating, working holidays, and weekends as scheduled.
Local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible—a valid driver’s license is required to verify residency. Submission must include a Qualivis form and current NURSYS report.
