North Alabama Medical Center’s Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is a high-acuity, fast-paced environment dedicated to providing exceptional care for critically ill cardiac and vascular patients. The unit specializes in the management of complex cardiovascular conditions, including post-operative open-heart surgery patients, advanced heart failure cases, and patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring and life-sustaining therapies. CVICU nurses work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. This dynamic unit offers opportunities to develop advanced critical care skills, utilize cutting-edge technology, and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes while supporting patients and families through some of their most challenging healthcare experiences.

 

How you’ll contribute

 

For RNs looking for cardiovascular unit that challenges you, supports your growth, and values your voice as a nurse, North Alabama Medical Center is the place to build your career.

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Schedule: 3x12 Full Time – 7:00PM - 7:00AM

 

What we’re looking for

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Nursing

  • Current Alabama RN license (or eligible for licensure).

  • BLS required
