eHospitalHire is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in eastern North Carolina to identify compassionate and experienced Registered Nurses for a Surgical Oncology unit.
This 32-bed unit cares for adult oncology patients requiring surgical interventions, as well as patients undergoing treatment for benign surgical conditions. The patient population includes Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT), Colorectal, OB/GYN, Urology, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, Thoracic, and Plastic Surgery patients. Nurses work in a collaborative environment with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, providing specialized, patient-centered care throughout the surgical recovery process.
Both day and night shifts are available based on current staffing needs.
Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to surgical oncology and specialty surgical patients.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
Monitor patients throughout the pre-operative and post-operative recovery process, identifying changes in condition and responding appropriately.
Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and evidence-based practice.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, case management, rehabilitation, and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, surgical recovery, medications, and discharge instructions.
Accurately document patient care, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement standards.
Support a positive, collaborative team environment while delivering compassionate care.
Diploma in Nursing, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Current North Carolina RN license or eligibility to practice under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Minimum of one (1) year of acute care Registered Nurse experience required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Previous experience in Surgical Oncology, Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Post-Surgical, or Progressive Care nursing preferred.
Oncology nursing experience and chemotherapy knowledge are a plus.
Registered Nurses with Home Health or Palliative Care experience who have cared for oncology patients are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a strong oncology background in these settings will be considered for this opportunity.

Base Pay Range: $34.00 – $51.98/hour
Compensation is based on years of applicable nursing experience.
Up to $30,000 Commitment Incentive
Evening Shift Differential: +$3.50/hour
Night Shift Differential: +$5.00/hour
Weekend Differential: +$10.00/hour
