Position Summary:

The break nurse will provide temporary relief to other nurses during their scheduled breaks and meal periods. The main responsibility will be to ensure continuous patient care by covering the primary nurse's duties, allowing them to take their break. This role is crucial for maintaining patient safety, supporting staff well-being, and facilitating smooth workflow within the healthcare facility. Duties include: taking over patient care responsibilities such as administering medications, monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily tasks, and responding to patient needs.

Departments: Medical Surgical and Emergency Department

Qualifications:

Requires 1-2 years hospital acute care experience.

Requires graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Requires current State of California Registered Nurse licensure.

Requires current AHA BLS and ACLS.

For Emergency Department also requires PALS
