Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position in a high-acuity pediatric environment. This role will work across NICU, PICU, Pediatric ER, and Pediatric Medical/Surgical floors, providing advanced respiratory care for neonatal and pediatric populations.

NICU and PICU experience is required.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 4x12s (18:45 – 07:15)
• Block Schedules: Not available
• Float Required: Yes, across all pediatric units
• Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend
• Orientation Hours: 30

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Licensure: Active NC Respiratory Care License (preferred)
• Certifications:
• Required: BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
• Preferred: NC State License, NPS
• Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of RRT experience
• NICU or Pediatric experience required (both not required as of 01/30/2025)
• Charting System:
• Preferred: Epic
• Travel Experience: Not required

Skills & Competencies:

• ABG interpretation
• Drawing arterial blood gases
• Basic EKG (preferred)

Medication Delivery:

• Aerosol setup (mask/trach)
• Medihaler

Ventilator Management:

• BiPAP, CPAP
• Troubleshooting high-pressure alarms
• Weaning from mechanical ventilation

Airway & Oxygen Therapy:

• Extubation
• Nasal/oropharyngeal/tracheostomy suctioning
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Trach collar

Work Settings:

• Emergency Department (Peds)
• NICU
• Pediatric Critical Care (PICU)
• Pediatric Med/Surg

Patient Population:

• Neonates
• Infants
• Pediatrics
• Daily Census: 10–15
• Case Load: 50–60% NICU & PICU

Unit Details:

• Must be comfortable floating between NICU, PICU, Peds ER, and Pediatric floors
• High acuity pediatric setting with interdisciplinary team support
• Preferred Ventilator: Servo I

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 48 per week
