Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs)

Overview

We are seeking 4 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) to join our team:

• 2 FTE – Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT)
• 2 FTE – RRTs with additional certification in Polysomnography (RPSGT, RST, or SDS)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and emergency respiratory care services to patients.
• Manage critical care cases involving ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and advanced airway techniques.
• Conduct polysomnographic testing and sleep studies (for RRTs with RPSGT, RST, or SDS credentials).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with VA and healthcare regulations.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.

Education:

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy (RT) Program.
• For Sleep Specialists: Completion of an accredited Sleep Program in addition to RT requirements.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience, with at least 1 year in critical care (inclusive).
• For Sleep Specialists: Minimum 2 years of Polysomnography (PSG) experience in addition to RT experience.

Certifications (Mandatory):

• RRT credential issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• For Sleep Specialists (2 FTE): One of the following:
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) – BRPT
• Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) – AASM
• Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) – NBRC

Licensure:

• Active licensure with the Respiratory Care Board of California (required).

Other Requirements:

• OIG clearance.
• Professional references validating experience as an RRT (and as a Polysomnographer, if applicable).
