This position is temporary for 3-6 months. May be come permanent. Under the supervision of the Medical Director and Nurse Manager, the RDMS/sonographer is responsible for implementing all aspects of the ultrasound process.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- RDMS in OB/GYN
- Commitment to the mission of the Sacramento Life Center
- Maintain certifications as required.
- Current BLS CPR certification.
- Documentation of TB screening within the past year, or medical clearance.
- Hepatitis B Vaccination is recommended but not required; waiver must be signed if not completed. Verification of immunity.
- Must pass a background check.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Under indirect supervision, performs limited obstetric ultrasounds, (after completing the required SLC internal training), to determine if there is a viable pregnancy and, if so, the gestational age of the fetus.
- Discusses results of the limited ultrasound with the patient (and other people approved by the patient) and discusses issues and options relative to the specific case.
- Use effective communication skills with patients and staff; demonstrate proper telephone techniques and etiquette;
- Shows sensitivity to differences of culture; demonstrates a positive and supportive manner in which patients / families/ colleagues perceive interactions as positive and supportive.
- Initiates calls to the Medical Director for problematic ultrasounds or patient medical concerns.
- Reviews ultrasound charts and reports
- Assures ultrasound charts, (both electronic medical record and hard copy), are completed in a timely manner and available to be signed by the Medical Director.
- For problematic scans, notify Medical Director of urgent case and upload immediately.
- Assures ultrasound file contains all required documents.
- Exhibits teamwork skills
- Attend staff meetings as appropriate.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and adheres to privacy, confidentiality, and security policies and procedures related to Protected Health Information (PHI) or other sensitive and personal information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday 9AM-4PM
Friday 10am-7pm
