Registration-Registrar

Job Summary: 

Registrars are responsible for greeting patients and performing clerical tasks to get them registered and admitted into the facility correctly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greets patients and completes the registration and/or admission process.

• Verifies patient insurance information.

• Completes pre-certification for all insurance except Medicare and Medicaid.

• Makes copies of all required forms and files them appropriately.

• Directs patients to the proper department.

• Monitors the switchboard in the afternoon and evening.

• Answers the phone, takes messages, and transfers callers to the appropriate personnel or department.

• Helps patients get out of the car. Assists only; registrars cannot transport patients.

• Assists in transporting patients to departments within the facility.

• Assists with helping patients into the building.

• Collaborates with nursing staff upon completion of the admittance process.

• Registers all patients except for OT, PT, ST.

• Breaks down all charts for each shift.

• Performs other job-related duties as requested.

Job Qualifications:

Education/Qualification Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred but not required.

Experience:

• Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.


• Additional languages preferred.
