SUMMARY: This position represents the SIGC in a highly professional manner and requires technical and people skills. The position monitors the gaming operation to ensure compliance with the SIGC operating policy and procedures, preserve and protect the assets of the Squaxin Island Tribe and ensure the integrity of the gaming operation. The position
will monitor, inspect, investigate and report on criminal and administrative incidents involving compliance with the Tribal
Gaming Ordinance and Regulations, Tribal – State Compact, RCW, SIGC System of Accounting and Internal Controls, the requirements of the National Indian Gaming Commission and the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. This position may
be assigned to Licensing, (Enforcement, Surveillance), Audit or IT depending on the needs of the Agency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have the ability to read and interpret rules and laws. Must be able to use a computer to communicate by email and type reports. Must be able to articulate accurately and concisely incidents and events in writing as well as verbally. Must
have the ability to interact with team members as well as the public. A basic knowledge of gaming is required. A basic knowledge of computers and technology is required. Must possess the ability to learn and improve.
Candidate will be required to learn rules and regulations and follow policies and procedures. Candidates will be exposed to new technology and be required to research and learn new concepts.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s license. Incumbents must be able to pass a background investigation; and meet the criteria for a gaming license.
OTHER: Skills Assessment will be required for this position. Test will be conducted at time of interview.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to tobacco smoke. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

screening in accordance with the Tribe’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.

Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a relevant field and 1 year prior table game, casino security and/or regulatory/investigative experience in law enforcement and/or military OR Associate of Arts Degree in Business or relevant field and three years prior table game, casino security and/or regulatory/investigative experience in law enforcement and/or military OR High School Diploma/GED and five years prior table game, casino security and/or regulatory/investigative experience in law enforcement. The successful applicant will be required to complete the Squaxin Island Gaming Commission’s training program. Previous point of sales, TLS and MIS experience is preferred.
