Collaborative care is also more efficient. In many cases, IBJI services are substantially less expensive than those provided by large healthcare systems and emergency rooms

Job Summary

Chicagoland's premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations, has a year round Rehabilitation Technician opening at our Gurnee Rehab Services location.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to work 30 - 40 hours per week year-round in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting within IBJI's Rehab Services Division. The Rehab Tech is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objectives of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life.

Essential Duties

  1. Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.
  2. Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies.
  3. Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
  4. Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines. 5. Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.
  5. Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program. 7. Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
  6. Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
  7. Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.
  8. For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
  9. Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
  10. Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.
  11. Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
  12. Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
  13. Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours. 
  14. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Job Qualifications

  1. Must be a current student or have completed a high school education
  2. Bilingual Spanish preferred
  3. Must have a minimum of 20-35 hours of availability per week
  4. Must have availability for morning and evening shifts

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  2. Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
  3. Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  4. Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access.
  5. Ability to loft 20 pounds or more

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
