REHAB TECH OFFICE COORDINATOR

Description

The person in this position is responsible for provision and administration of specific therapy treatments only under the direct supervision of the staff therapist(s). The Rehabilitation Technician, as directed and supervised by the staff therapist(s), assists with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical disability. Assists residents to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The Rehabilitation Technician participates in operational aspects of the department and performance improvement activities within the department.

The Rehabilitation Office Coordinator portion of this position is responsible for coordinating and directing the clerical aspect of the department, ensuring that all duties are performed in a timely manner. This position handles recertifications, insurance, and some billing and collection duties. The Office Coordinator also maintains communication with outside associates as well as inside associates. Answers/screens telephone calls and performs secretarial duties for the department. Performs other clerical duties to include maintaining patient medical record forms and medical records.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Previous healthcare experience is preferred.
3. Previous medical billing experience preferred.
4. Current CPR certification required (may be completed during orientation).
