Overview: Listerhill Credit Union is a financial cooperative whose primary purpose is to help our members live financially healthy lives. In 1952, seven Reynolds Metals employees deposited $5 each with the idea of starting a credit union that was member-owned and member-focused. Helping co-workers break from predatory lenders to borrow affordably and save for their financial futures, was their motivation. We have grown from a single office at Reynolds Metals to 18 branches throughout northwest Alabama and south-central Tennessee. Today, we serve 13 counties with a full line of financial solutions. The Role: Your efforts and ultimate successes should be measurable and recognizable as you strive daily within LCU’s vision: “to value people over profit, proactively seek improvement, work passionately, exceed expectations, and make our community a better place”. As a Relationship Advisor, you would be working with our membership by engaging in meaningful conversations and finding proactive ways to meet their needs. This could include cross-selling credit union products, initiating loan conversations and completing the loan process as the loan officer, or presenting them with credit card opportunities. You will be welcoming new members and increasing product penetration for those acquired by digital/online or indirect lending channels as part of an onboarding strategy.   

What you will do: 

  • Interact with members and enhance member relationships by identifying and recommending solutions to members’ financial needs
  • Call members from a list provided by management and engage in meaningful conversations
  • Respond to questions and concerns related to product information, account details, loan applications, establishing new accounts for existing members, etc. 
  • Perform maintenance on accounts if necessary 
  • Open new accounts for members you are working with
  • Analyze current financial position of members to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money
  • Perform all task associated with being a loan officer
  • Establish long-term financial relationships with members by identifying needs and recommending solutions
  • Understand the members’ financial goals and work with them to build an achievable plan
  • Identify, research and resolve member issues by providing knowledgeable and professional service.
  • Contribute to organizational and departmental goals and meet assigned KPI’s 
  • Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One-year of customer service experience required
  • One to three years of financial institution experience required; prior experience assisting members by telephone preferred
  • Must possess a professional demeanor and personality conducive to service and sales culture. (This qualification will be measured by validated testing)
  • Ability to build relationships quickly over the phone
  • Must communicate well verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; multitasking while listening to members needs and quickly finding solutions
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to LCU’s Mission Statement and Core Values
  • Must successfully complete appropriate LCU assessments
