Job Description - Relationship Manager

Builders Capital is amongst the nation's largest private construction lenders, offering innovative financing solutions to a wide spectrum of developers and homebuilders.

Builders Capital is seeking a Relationship Manager (RM) to join our team!  The Relationship Manager is a customer-focused role responsible for creating a smooth, proactive, and high-touch experience for Builders Capital clients throughout the approval process. This person serves as a key connection point between Sales, Operations, and the client, helping to ensure communication is clear, expectations are managed, and the customer experience remains strong from start to finish.

The motto of the Relationship Management team is simple: Take care of the customer.

This role is ideal for someone who brings a positive, service-first mindset, enjoys building relationships, and is comfortable picking up the phone to proactively communicate with clients. The RM helps guide clients through key steps in the Builders Capital process, including explaining requirements, helping clients understand what is needed for their approval, and making sure clients feel informed and supported along the way.

Duties and responsibilities for this position include:

  • Act as the borrower’s main point of contact throughout the approval process.
  • Provide clear, proactive communication around timelines, required documentation, next steps, and approval status.
  • Build trust with borrowers by keeping them informed, answering questions, and helping resolve issues before they become problems.
  • Create a positive customer experience by making borrowers feel supported, informed, and well taken care of.
  • Maintain clean, accurate, and organized client and project records in HubSpot.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Credit, Processing, and Operations to support clear communication and smooth handoffs.
  • Track key approval milestones, renewal timelines, and follow-up items to keep client activity moving forward.
  • Identify potential delays, documentation gaps, or process issues early and help drive resolution.
  • Customer-first mindset with a proactive, high-touch approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative team player who can work effectively across Sales, Credit, Processing, and Operations.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and committed to keeping information accurate and organized.
  • Positive, calm, and solution-oriented when working through challenges.

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00 hourly, commensurate with experience and education. This position is also eligible for monthly commission in accordance with the applicable commission plan.
