We're actively seeking a forward-thinking leader who excels in fostering collaboration with a highly skilled team of engineers. They'll work on revolutionary products and seek to make them better through creation and execution of comprehensive test suites, identification of potential failure modes, and collaboration with design teams to drive product improvements. The position is on Apple's innovative Mac Reliability Engineering team, where we collaborate with hardware development and Silicon packaging team. You will be leading the board level package integration reliability on new Mac Apple SoC package and similar technologies, development of new test procedures to quantify the reliability of a design, and failure analysis resulting from these tests. Key Qualifications

Extensive managerial and leadership record, working on reliability analysis of complex systems
Proven track record in leading or coordinating cross-functional teams and excellent interpersonal capabilities.
Knowledge of Semiconductor package integration, SLI (Second level Interconnect) reliability, Bonding materials, Warpage control.
Experience performing system characterization using Mechanical Stress Tests, Shock/Drop/Vibration Testing, Environmental Testing
Failure Analysis analytical techniques (Optical Microscopy, X-Ray, CSAM, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XPS etc)
Knowledge of failure modes and statistical life data analysis using curve fitting and distributions models.
Experience with usage of prevention tools like FMEA (Failure Modes an Effects Analysis) and FEA (Finite Element analysis)

Description

- Guide the development of new reliability tests procedures and specifications - Statistical data analysis to provide risk assessments of a design - Researching a technology to determine possible failure modes - Providing design recommendations to improve product reliability when necessary - Interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results

Education & Experience

- MS or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field desired

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $183,400.00 and $316,900.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
