We are looking for a detail-oriented 3D Visual QA Specialist to work with a proprietary desktop application used to review utility infrastructure in 3D LiDAR environments.
The application presents LiDAR data as a navigable 3D environment containing utility poles, electrical and communication lines, vegetation, buildings, and other real-world objects. Automated systems identify utility infrastructure and place corresponding overlays within the environment.
As a 3D Visual QA Specialist, you will navigate these 3D environments, visually inspect automated results, identify errors, and make necessary corrections.
Because the role involves continuous navigation through a 3D environment using keyboard and mouse controls, candidates with PC gaming, game QA/testing, visual inspection, or similar experience may be particularly well suited.
No programming, game development, Unity development, or 3D modeling experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Navigate large 3D LiDAR environments efficiently using keyboard and mouse controls.
Visually identify utility poles and the lines running between them.
Review overlays generated by automated detection systems and verify their accuracy.
Remove false-positive overlays where an object has been incorrectly identified.
Add overlays where utility infrastructure was missed by the automated system.
Review and classify lines between utility poles, such as primary, neutral, and communication lines.
Follow established visual examples and QA guidelines to ensure consistent decisions.
Maintain accuracy while performing repetitive visual-review tasks across large datasets.
Communicate questions or unusual scenarios when the appropriate classification is unclear.
Complete assigned QA tasks while maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
Training will be provided on the application, workflow, utility infrastructure, line identification, and QA standards.
Requirements
Highly comfortable navigating 3D environments using a keyboard and mouse.
Strong visual and spatial awareness with the ability to quickly orient yourself within a 3D scene.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle visual differences.
Comfortable performing repetitive visual inspection while maintaining accuracy.
Ability to learn and distinguish different types of real-world objects based on visual examples.
Ability to consistently apply defined QA rules and guidelines.
Comfortable learning and working with new proprietary software.
Clear communication skills, especially when encountering ambiguous situations.
Willingness to learn and adapt to a specialized workflow.
What We Value Most
We are more interested in your 3D navigation ability, visual aptitude, attention to detail, consistency, and trainability than formal technical qualifications.
The role will evaluate your ability to:
Navigate a 3D environment comfortably and efficiently.
Learn visual identification requirements.
Make accurate QA decisions.
Maintain attention to detail during repetitive tasks.
Apply guidelines consistently.
Become productive after training.
Good to Have
The following experience would be an advantage but is not required:
Video game QA or functional QA testing
Significant PC gaming experience, particularly games involving free movement through 3D environments
3D asset or environment QA
Visual inspection or annotation work
GIS, mapping, LiDAR, or geospatial applications
Image or data annotation
Experience with 3D modeling tools or simulation environments
Other roles involving detailed visual comparison and classification
What This Role Is NOT
This is not a software development position. You will not be expected to:
Write code
Develop or modify the application
Create 3D models or artwork
Have Unity development experience
Have prior electrical utility expertise
All specialized knowledge required for the role will be taught during training.
Tools / Technical Environment
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
LiDAR data
GIS applications
3D modeling tools
3D simulation environments
Image or data annotation tools
Training Schedule
Are you available to work from 7:00/8:00 PM to 4:00/5:00 AM Philippine Time during the training period?
What You’ll Do
Navigate complex 3D environments using keyboard and mouse controls (W, A, S, D + mouse).
Review algorithm-generated object detections along driver paths in LiDAR-based rides.
Fix algorithmic errors by:
Adding missing objects
Removing incorrectly created objects
Ensure all objects are accurately positioned and categorized.
Maintain near-perfect accuracy during long review sessions.
Follow QA procedures and contribute to improving annotation quality.
What We’re Looking For
Strong proficiency navigating 3D environments using keyboard and mouse. o Gaming experience (PC games, simulators, or 3D editors) is strongly preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to detect subtle errors.
Proven ability to maintain sustained focus on repetitive tasks for several hours at a time.
High level of accuracy and consistency; comfort working independently with minimal supervision.
Strong spatial awareness and visual perception skills.
Reliable computer setup and internet connection suitable for remote 3D work.
