Job Summary: Virtual Arkansas’s goal is to design and develop high-quality curriculum, instructional, and assessment materials aligned to the Arkansas Curriculum Frameworks, ensuring these resources support student learning at the highest levels, as demonstrated through performance on ATLAS, ACT, SAT, and other assessments. To support this goal, Virtual Arkansas seeks Assessment Item Reviewers to review, revise, and validate Algebra I assessment items. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure alignment to Arkansas Math Standards, appropriate DOK (Depth of Knowledge) level, accuracy, clarity, and assessment quality for Algebra I items.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Work each Algebra I assessment item independently to confirm the accuracy of the problem, the solution, and the answer choices.
Document findings for each reviewed item, including accuracy verification, alignment notes, and suggestions for any needed edits.
Collaborate with specialists, agencies, and developers in a phased approach for producing quality digital curriculum content appropriate to the assigned course according to state content standards or other applicable content standards
Review and validate assessment items to ensure:
Alignment to Arkansas Mathematics Standards and ATLAS assessment expectations.
Correct application of mathematical principles and procedures.
Proper DOK level and rigor appropriate to Algebra I.
Accessibility, clarity, and adherence to formatting standards.
Revise items to meet quality and rigor expectations.
Collaborate with project leads to maintain consistency and alignment.
Attend calibration sessions and complete project-related professional development as needed.
Meet deadlines with a commitment to both accuracy and thoroughness.
Ensure all work meets the standards for accessible, copyright-compliant digital content
Participate in collaborative team meetings and professional development for personal growth and skill acquisition related to project needs
Script learning objects, videos, and other lesson content
Implement scaffolded instructional design to ensure students are supported as they progress from basic understanding to higher-order applications.
Attend course planning and design meetings whether virtual or face to face
Pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and legality of content
Prioritize and adapt to meet required deadlines
Abide by all Virtual Arkansas and applicable Arch Ford ESC policies and/or regulations
Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics is desired
Three years of blended/online teaching experience is desired
Online course development and design experience is desired
Demonstration of high-quality verbal and written communication skills
Demonstration of creative writing and research abilities
Teacher Licensure for the requested content area and grade level required (Mathematics 7-12)
Strong working knowledge of how Algebra I students are assessed on the ATLAS exam including expectations for DOK levels, item formats, and standard alignments
Experience designing Algebra I assessments preferred.
Completion of DESE, Education Service Cooperative, and/or Cambium professional development related to ATLAS (Arkansas Teaching and Learning Assessment System) is desired
Deep understanding of Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels, especially within the context of Algebra I.
Strong familiarity with current Arkansas Math Standards and Algebra I frameworks.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
Reliable internet access and use of a personal laptop or desktop computer for work tasks is required.

Telework from home office
Compensation: $4,000 minus applicable taxes, retirement, and fees
