Apprentice

Job Overview:

Ensure the efficient operation of plumbing systems in commercial buildings. Responsibilities will include the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures, pipes, and fittings. Collaborating closely with other team members to contribute to the timely completion of projects, all while adhering to safety protocols and relevant building codes and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing plumbing issues


• Conducting inspections and implementing appropriate repair methods


• Work alongside other tradespeople, such as electricians and HVAC techs to coordinate project activities effectively


• Using various hand tools to cut, bend, and thread pipe, as well as assemble and install plumbing systems


• Test for leaks and ensure functionality


• Identify and troubleshoot plumbing issues and determine appropriate repair methods.


• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used


• Provide estimates for projects and procuring necessary materials


• Interact with clients, always being professional


• Remain up to date on industry trends, codes, and regulations related to commercial plumbing

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to plan plumbing installations.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Valid plumbing license.


• Proven experience working as a commercial plumber.


• Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

• Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment.


• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.


• Clean driving record.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.


• Stamina to stand, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.


• Manual dexterity to manipulate plumbing tools and equipment.


• Good vision and depth perception for accurate measurements and installations.


• Physical fitness and agility to perform physically demanding tasks.

Work Environment:

• Work primarily in commercial buildings, such as office complexes, retail spaces, and industrial facilities.


• Exposure to various weather conditions when working on outdoor plumbing systems.


• Potential exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals.


• May work in confined spaces or at heights using appropriate safety measures.


• Travel to different job sites is required.
