Responsibilities
- Draft, produce, and proofread original email, action, web, and/or SMS content
- Support long-term and rapid response digital campaigns that increase membership, revenue, and support for Common Cause’s work
- Collaborate with the Campaigns & Organizing team, Policy & Litigation team, and State teams to advance digital campaigns that support our grassroots organizing and policy goals and report on results
- Closely track Common Cause’s state and national work as well as the national news cycle to identify and make use of opportunities for digital content.
- Respond to member questions and comments via email and SMS, or route to appropriate staff
- Support organic and paid list growth opportunities, including our swap program and paid acquisition program
- Code and implement HTML-based A/B tests from a shared testing queue, and report on results
- Identify new test ideas to improve email and campaign performance
- Run reports from Action Network and use data to identify successes and challenges in our work, and propose solutions for challenges
- Support the maintenance of our digital infrastructure, including our onboarding processes and automated systems
- Additional duties as assigned

- A strong commitment to Common Cause’s nonpartisan mission and to advancing civil rights through our pro-democracy agenda

- Demonstrated interest in public advocacy campaigns and mobilization efforts
- Demonstrated interest in current national democracy issues, including voting rights, redistricting, campaign finance reform, disinformation, ethics, etc.
- Familiarity with office productivity tools including Microsoft Office and Zoom
- A track record of working collaboratively with others, and the ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders with diverse interests
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects at once, with attention to detail, and a resourceful approach to solving problems
- Experience building and sending emails or other HTML content in systems like Action Network, EveryAction/NGP, Mailchimp, WordPress, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with ActBlue or other digital payment processors
- Experience with HTML and digital A/B testing
- Ability to travel 1-2 times per year for team and/or all staff retreats
- Willing to have a social media presence on behalf of Common Cause, including being tagged on posts and creating content on behalf of the organization (as needed, Common Cause will provide accounts for staff members to use)
- Per our nonpartisan policy, Common Cause staff members may not currently be in elected office (or running for office); on the Steering Committee or Finance Committee for any political candidate; or affiliated with the leadership of a political party
- This position is included in a union-represented collective bargaining unit and specific employment terms and conditions are subject to collective bargaining negotiations
- Common Cause is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time; please note that if hired, you will be asked to produce documentation for authorization to work in the US
