Back End Senior Developer

We are hiring on behalf of our partner in the technology sector and are looking for a Back End Developer to take on the following responsibilities :

• Design, develop, test and deploy production-ready backend features end-to-end.


• Develop and maintain applications using Java and Spring Boot.


• Design and implement microservices and event-driven architectures.


• Build and manage asynchronous communication and data flows using Apache Kafka.


• Contribute to the modernization and migration of legacy applications to a modern technology stack.


• Ensure code quality through automated testing, coding standards and engineering best practices.


• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, release management and cloud deployments.


• Manage infrastructure definitions using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).


• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.


• Identify and resolve technical dependencies and blockers while supporting and mentoring other engineers.

Profile required

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.


• Experience: Significant experience as a Senior Java / Back End Developer, with proven experience delivering software solutions end-to-end.

Skills & Expertise:

• Strong expertise in Java, ideally Java 17+, Spring Framework and Spring Boot.


• Strong hands-on experience with Microservices and Event-Driven Architecture.


• Proven production experience with Apache Kafka: producers, consumers, topics and stream processing.


• Strong experience with automated testing.


• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure or GCP.


• Good knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps practices and release management.


• Hands-on experience with Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools.


• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Datadog, Grafana or ELK is a plus.


• Experience with legacy J2EE technologies (EJB, Web Services) is a plus.


• Languages: Fluent English is mandatory; German is a plus.
