About the Opportunity 

Start Date: September 2nd, 2025

Length of Fellowship: 10-12 months

Are you passionate about leading projects to advance sustainability solutions for community building, working with building owners and other technical experts? As a Buildings & Energy Fellow in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll be able to contribute to impactful climate resiliency & sustainability initiatives with the City of Bellevue. 

This is a hybrid position with the expectation of onsite work 2 days & remote 3 days per week. Occasional work program activities or events may occur outside the standard work week hours, and will be communicated in advance (and whether they are optional). This position requires the employee to be physically located within commuting distance of Bellevue, WA, at the time of hire. Only candidates currently residing within commuting distance of the onsite location will be considered.

In this fellowship, you will be able to work with buildings and transportation solutions, including energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization, which are major climate mitigation strategies for the City of Bellevue and the wider Puget Sound region. This position will contribute to and lead projects to advance solutions for community buildings, working with building owners, property managers, or operators, and other technical experts.

The Buildings & Energy Fellow may support or lead the following initiatives to advance building energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization efforts:

• The Bellevue Clean Buildings Incentive Program helps buildings comply with state energy efficiency and reporting requirements.


• Electric vehicle charging infrastructure design, technical assistance, and management initiatives.


• Green building design and certification, particularly for affordable multi-family housing.

What You’ll Do

• Produce, track, manage, analyze, and communicate data.


• Develop and deliver presentations or reports.


• Build relationships with, and present to, internal or external clients and stakeholders.


• Research programs, policies, or resources, such as partnerships or grants.


• Support grant writing and management.


• Design, implement, evaluate, and improve initiatives, including for electric vehicle charging infrastructure design and technical assistance.


• ​Work on the Bellevue Clean Buildings Incentive Program, which helps buildings comply with state energy efficiency and reporting requirements.


• Support green building design and certification, particularly for affordable multi-family housing


• Support policy and programming research to support program and project design, management, evaluation, and implementation.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.


• Experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy, data analysis, program administration, project management, or related fields.


• Experience working with building systems, electric vehicles, or electric vehicle charging infrastructure.


• Ability to work in teams as well as independently, carrying out assignments, making independent judgments and/or decisions, and discerning when deferring action to a higher level is required.


• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and maintain an organized and well-communicated workflow.


• Reliable transportation to be available on-site(s) as needed.


• The ability to work onsite on a hybrid basis with the expectation of onsite work 2 days & remote 3 days per week. Occasional work program activities or events may occur outside the standard work week hours, and will be communicated in advance (and whether they are optional).


• Commitment to a fair workplace that honors the experiences, voices, viewpoints, and values of all individuals.


• Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).


• May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.
