Business Banking Officer

Description

The Business Banking Officer is responsible for promoting growth in and around our Middleboro, MA market.  In this role you will actively develop retail and commercial business that includes retail and commercial products to businesses and consumers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Makes business development calls on both current and prospective retail and commercial opportunities. 
• Meets with prospects and customers to identify business needs and recommends products and solutions. Identifies current and potential future needs of customers/prospects and services with a goal of increasing product penetration. 
• Responsible for the Banking Center’s growth in deposits, loans, and branch sales. Expected to meet objectives of increasing customer penetration. 
• Makes quality referrals to other business lines. 
• Strategizes sales opportunities. Plans, executes, and follows-up on community, organizational, and in-branch events to drive sales initiatives. 
• Promote the Bank in the community by making outside calls and maintaining an active visible role in appropriate organizations. Participate in civic activities to promote growth and development in the community and a positive image for the bank.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree or an additional four (4) years of business banking sales experience.
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in business development within the financial institution industry.
• Strong credit analysis and new business and portfolio management skills.
• Solid working knowledge of business and consumer loan deposit projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands

This position is an office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one’s workspace. While this job is mainly clerical, there are instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds.
