A growing equipment services organization is seeking a driven Business Development Executive to expand its presence across the life sciences market. This individual will introduce commercial laboratories to a comprehensive equipment maintenance management solution designed to consolidate service contracts, reduce maintenance expenses, improve equipment uptime, and simplify vendor management.
This is a true hunter role for a tenacious, consultative sales professional who can develop a market, create new opportunities, and navigate complex sales involving laboratory operations, procurement, finance, facilities, and executive leadership.
Build and execute a territory development strategy focused on commercial life sciences laboratories.
Prospect, develop, and close net-new business opportunities.
Sell equipment maintenance and service solutions into pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, research, testing, and other commercial laboratory environments.
Identify customer challenges involving fragmented service contracts, equipment downtime, rising maintenance costs, vendor performance, and aging laboratory assets.
Conduct strategic, consultative conversations with laboratory and business decision-makers.
Analyze existing service arrangements and develop compelling financial and operational business cases.
Manage the complete sales cycle, from initial outreach and discovery through proposal, contracting, and implementation.
Build relationships across laboratory operations, procurement, facilities, finance, quality, and executive leadership.
Coordinate closely with Sales Enablement, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, and other internal stakeholders.
Maintain an accurate pipeline and consistently deliver against revenue objectives.
Strong hunter mentality with demonstrated success developing new accounts and building an underpenetrated market.
Life sciences industry experience and a solid understanding of the full sales cycle.
Experience selling into commercial laboratory environments.
Background selling laboratory capital equipment, instrumentation, maintenance contracts, managed services, or recurring service agreements.
Familiarity with equipment such as chromatography and mass spectrometry systems, centrifuges, analytical instrumentation, environmental chambers, laboratory freezers, and related technologies.
Proven success in quota-carrying roles with annual revenue targets ranging from approximately $200,000 to $2 million.
Ability to quantify and communicate value related to cost savings, equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and risk reduction.
Skilled at leading strategic, consultative conversations with multiple decision-makers.
Demonstrated tenacity, organization, and independent territory-management capabilities.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment with significant autonomy.
Able to collaborate effectively with numerous internal and external stakeholders.
Base salary: $90,000–$120,000
Variable compensation: Approximately $35,000–$40,000
Variable compensation paid monthly

Assigned territory: Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and North Carolina
Approximately 25%–50% travel throughout the territory

The successful candidate should begin adding meaningful value at approximately Day 60. Dedicated Sales Enablement, Customer Success, and Revenue Operations teams support the commercial organization throughout the sales and implementation process.
