Care Team Specialist, International-based
Position Title: Care Team Specialist, International-based preferred
Department: Staff Engagement, Global Resource Team
Reports to: International Care Advocate until Care Team Senior Manager in place; additional check-ins with field supervisor
This position is: Full-time; support-raised; exempt.
Launch Global exists to mobilize churches to develop laborers and leaders who will reach unreached people groups with the gospel. The Care Team Specialist, International-based is a key role responsible for ensuring that LG’s International staff are equipped to thrive personally, spiritually, and professionally. Through proactive care, active engagement, and responsive intervention, the Care Team Specialist (International-based) will work to meet the holistic needs of staff alongside the rest of the Care Team, through collaboration with LGI leaders and staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Providing care to LGI staff
- Provide, maintain, and resource care provision for LGI employees, including quarterly check-ins and ongoing availability for LGI staff needs.
- Foster trust with LGI ministry staff, ensuring every staff member feels valued, supported, and connected. This includes travel to LGI staff locations to provide in-person connection.
- Maintain a high standard of care that is both beneficial and impactful.
- Demonstrate discernment to assess staff care needs and make appropriate referrals to professional clinicians, partner churches, or internal teams.
- Respond to LGI staff questions and provide relevant resources when needed.
- Collaborate with the LGI Director during the onboarding process to provide connection, care, and insight for new LGI staff.
- Collaborate with the Care Team to coordinate care during staff HMAs, sabbaticals, offboarding, and other staff transitions.
- Provide availability, professional knowledge, and care contribution to LGI Crisis Management Team when needed.
- Read and pray through the LGI staff newsletters.
- Assisting with Field Office Hospitality Needs
- Assist in planning events that are designed to edify, equip, and encourage LGI staff.
- Assist with hosting LG staff and other LG-related visitors in Chiang Mai.
- Send care packages to LGI staff upon observation of a change in lifestage, difficult season, or general need of encouragement.
- Care Resourcing and Networking
- Maintain awareness of goer care resources available overseas and in the US, including but not limited to counseling, debriefing, retreat centers, TCK care, educational resources, networks, and conferences that would benefit LGI staff.
- Build relationships with licensed counselors, overseas support providers, and ministry care organizations to expand a comprehensive care network.
- Pursue ongoing professional development and research in member care and goer care.
- Maintain knowledge of LGI care team resources, use these resources with staff, and continue to update and add resources to the LGI care team shared drive.
- Attend conferences related to goer care for networking and resourcing.
- TCK Care
- Maintain knowledge of best practices for organizations and families related to TCK care.
- Provide TCK care for LGI families or connect LGI parents to reputable TCK care providers.
- Attend conferences related to TCK care for networking and resourcing.
- Team Roles and Responsibilities
- Meet at least bi-weekly with supervisor and Care Team.
- Meet at least monthly with the LGI Director, LGI Advocate, LGI Ops, and LGI Team Leaders to understand care needs.
- Collaborate with the Staff Engagement team to meet organizational needs, goals, and requirements.
- Meet at least monthly with a coach, mentor, spiritual director, or counselor for personal growth and self-awareness.
- Professional Development
- Regularly take a weekly sabbath, a day off, and a monthly Day of Prayer and Evaluation (DOPE).
- Create a Personal Development Plan (PDP) each year with assistance from your supervisor.
- Pursue continuing education to best care for LGI staff and their families.
- Actively learn best practices from care teams of other mission organizations.
- Organizational Participation
- Attend Launch Global conferences and retreats to engage with staff and embody the Care Team’s mission.
- Raise and maintain financial support as ministry staff, demonstrating reliance on God.

Additional Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; certification or training in care or counseling-related fields preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of cross-cultural experience preferred.
- Participation in the monthly Day of Prayer and Evaluation (DOPE).
