This role is crucial within the Patient Financial Services Department, managing payment posting and credit balance activities. You will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate financial processes and contributing to departmental success. As part of your responsibilities, you will support new employee training and maintain a deep understanding of reimbursement methodologies. Accountabilities
- Coordinate and apply cash-related scripting and manual posting activities.
- Research and resolve unidentified payments efficiently.
- Support leadership in coordinating and reconciling balance processes.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource on cash posting and self-pay credit balances.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and departmental education.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or 3-5 years experience in payment posting.
- Experience with electronic remittance advice files.
- Background in insurance billing or collections.
- Self-pay credit balance experience.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to interpret explanation of benefits.
