Purpose of Role

As a Civil Engineer, you will review civil designs, ground data, earthworks and access infrastructure, identify technical risks, scope investigations and support tender requirements. Peat experience is an advantage, but strong transferable geotechnical expertise is welcomed.

Role responsibilities

Review civil value-engineering proposals, including site layouts, earthworks platforms, access tracks, drainage, structures and external works.

Assess whether proposed design changes and cost savings are technically robust, evidenced, safe and buildable.

Review site-investigation information, AGS data, peat probing and other ground data.

Identify information gaps that could affect design, cost, programme or safety.

Scope supplementary ground investigations, topographical surveys and Peat Stability Risk Assessments.

Draft civil, earthworks, drainage, access-track and geotechnical sections of Employer’s Requirements for EPCm tendering.

Review and challenge technical submissions from designers, consultants and contractors.

Skills, Qualfications & Abilities

Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.

Chartered Engineer status, equivalent professional recognition or substantial relevant senior-level experience.

Experience reviewing designs and technical reports on behalf of a client, developer or owner.

Experience specifying or interpreting ground investigations.

Ability to prepare technical scopes, specifications or tender documentation.

Strong background in geotechnical engineering, earthworks, engineered platforms, access roads or challenging ground conditions.

Strong written and spoken English and comfortable working remotely with UK stakeholders.
