Civil Engineer Transportation & Water Resources

Location: Houston, TX or anywhere in Texas (Houston area preferred)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Salary: $95,000 - $135,000 (Based on Experience)
Industry: Civil Infrastructure Transportation, Drainage, and Water Systems

About the Opportunity

HireNow Staffing is partnering with a Texas-based engineering consultancy to hire a Civil Engineer with deep expertise in road design and water resource management. This is a strategic opportunity for an experienced PE to work on major public infrastructure projects impacting communities through smarter, safer design.

This is more than a desk job you'll lead designs, interact with agency partners, and oversee full project lifecycles. We're looking for a licensed Texas PE who thrives on taking ownership, collaborating with clients, and mentoring up-and-coming engineers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take charge of design and technical execution for municipal infrastructure projects especially roadway, stormwater, and drainage systems

  • Prepare construction documents including PS&E packages, hydraulic reports, and cost estimates

  • Lead coordination with cities, agencies, and consulting partners throughout planning, permitting, and construction

  • Attend and present at client meetings, public hearings, and pre-bid sessions

  • Oversee field-related activities such as site visits, RFIs, change orders, and construction support

  • Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, and promote continuous team development

  • Contribute to proposals and project pursuits to help win new municipal and TxDOT work

Who You Are

Licensed PE in the State of Texas
Bachelor's in civil engineering (or a related field)
6-8+ years of hands-on civil design experience
Strong skills in roadway design, hydraulic modeling, and stormwater systems
Proficient communicator with the confidence to present to public agencies and collaborate across disciplines
Familiar with the full project lifecycle from concept to construction

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • TxDOT design standards experience (schematic & PS&E)

  • Strong technical writing skills memos, RFI responses, reports

  • Background mentoring junior team members or leading design groups

  • Experience using GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, or cost estimation software
