  • Provide clinical support and consultation to staff conducting structured telephone interviews with Veterans.

  • Ensure interviewers are prepared to conduct conversations in a sensitive, quiet, confidential, and Veteran-centered manner.

  • Collaborate with other project leadership to maintain continuity of operations and timely completion of project requirements.

  • Contribute to weekly status updates, quarterly reporting, and issue resolution related to clinical oversight, interviewer readiness, and quality assurance.

  • Maintain awareness of response and retention challenges and advise on Veteran-centered outreach practices that improve engagement while preserving privacy, sensitivity, and trust.

  • This position is primarily remote with the possibility of limited scheduled travel to the Washington, DC metro area

Required Qualifications

  • Experience training, coaching, or supporting staff who interact directly with individuals discussing sensitive or personal topics.

  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor compliance with crisis escalation or urgent response protocols.

  • Experience with VA, VHA, federal health programs, or federally funded research and evaluation efforts.

  • Experience with suicide prevention, PTSD, trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or mental health outcomes assessment.

  • Experience supporting telephone-based interviewing, survey research, call center operations, CATI-enabled interviewing, or structured data collection.

  • Experience developing interviewer training materials, quality assurance procedures, clinical guidance, or escalation workflows.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA, human subjects protection, privacy requirements, and secure handling of sensitive health-related data.

  • Experience contributing to client-facing reports, status updates, quality reviews, or operational improvement recommendations.

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and strengthen team capability in a mission-focused consulting environment.
